Congratulations on the new Thermomix TM7 — it is a serious bit of kit. To help you start on the right foot, here is a simple checklist for your first week, covering setup, protection and the little things that make day-to-day cooking smoother.
1. Protect the screen straight away
That 10-inch display is gorgeous and exposed. The first thing most of us do with a new phone is fit a case — same logic here. A screen cover takes the fingerprints, splashes and stray spoons.
2. Cover the motor section
When the bowl comes off, the TM7's motor area is open to dust and knocks. A motor cover sorts that for cleaning days and any time the machine moves.
3. Set up your profile and Cookidoo
Take ten minutes to create your user profile, set your units and language, and log into Cookidoo. The TM7's recipe library and guided cooking are half the magic — get them connected early.
4. Sort your scale setup
The built-in scales are brilliant, but weighing into a second bowl on top can be wobbly. A scale plate adaptor gives you a stable, lower surface and keeps spills away from the motor.
5. Give the spatula a home
The redesigned TM7 spatula has a soft tip that can tear if it is rattling around a drawer. A spatula and cap holder keeps it safe and to hand.
6. Learn one new function a week
Do not try to master everything at once. Pick one mode — fermentation, sous vide, the bigger Varoma — and try it properly. It is the easiest way to actually use what you paid for.
7. Read up on protecting your investment

That is the lot. Sort these in week one and you will be set up properly from the start. You can find everything in the TM7 accessories collection — all 3D printed to order in Brisbane.
